How Mutations Work

When you harvest a crop in Build A Ring Farm, there is a random chance it receives a mutation that multiplies its sell price. Mutations are applied independently per crop — you can get different mutations on different plants in the same harvest. The Cosmic mutation (8x) on an S-tier Ghost Pepper in the outer ring (19x multiplier) is one of the highest possible single-crop values in the game.

You cannot control which mutation a crop receives. The best strategy is maximise your crop value through ring placement and seed tier, then let the RNG work in your favour over many harvests.

How Mutations Roll & Whether They Stack

Here are the direct answers to the questions players ask most, without the hedging:

• 🎲 Do mutations stack with each other? No. Each crop gets one mutation applied at harvest, not several layered on top of each other. A single Ghost Pepper cannot be both Cosmic and Radiant — it rolls one result. What does stack is the mutation multiplier with the ring multiplier and base price (base × ring × mutation), which is where the huge numbers come from.
• 🔄 When is the roll decided? The mutation is rolled per crop, independently, at the moment of harvest — not when you plant. Two identical seeds planted side by side can harvest with completely different mutations (or none at all). Because each plant is its own independent roll, more crops in your outer ring means more chances per harvest cycle.
• 📊 What is the rough rarity order? From most common to rarest: Enhanced (Common, easiest to see) → up through the mid tiers → Radiant and Transcendent (Epic) → Cosmic (Legendary, by far the rarest). The better the mutation, the lower its roll chance, so a Cosmic on an S-tier outer-ring crop is a genuinely rare event worth screenshotting.
• 🚫 Can you force or guarantee a specific mutation? No. There is no in-game action, code, or item that locks in a chosen mutation. Anyone claiming a guaranteed-Cosmic method is wrong. You influence outcomes (by maximising base × ring so any roll is worth more), never the roll itself.

Do the Acid & Autumn Sprays Actually Affect Mutations?

The codes THANKYOU and BARF:3 give an Autumn Spray and an Acid Spray. The honest answer on what they do: sprays are crop-treatment items you apply before harvest, and in this game they are best understood as a boost to the value or growth of the crop you apply them to rather than a guaranteed mutation re-roll. The developer has not published exact spray odds, so we will not claim a precise percentage. What is safe to state: a spray is single-use, so the highest-return move is to apply it to a high-multiplier outer-ring S-tier crop, never a 1x inner-ring starter. If a future update publishes confirmed spray mechanics, we will update this section — until then, treat sprays as a one-time value bump to spend on your best plant.

• 🌾 Plant more crops — each crop is an independent roll for a mutation. More plants in your outer ring means more chances per harvest.
• ✨ Use pets with luck bonuses — the Capybara gives 1.6x seed luck. Its confirmed effect is on seed-roll rarity, not mutation rolls, so equip it for Seed Machine rolls; for mutations, your real lever is planting more high-value crops.
• 🧪 Spend sprays on your best crop — the BARF:3 and THANKYOU codes give single-use sprays. Apply them to a high-multiplier outer-ring S-tier plant, where any value bump is worth the most.
• ⏰ Harvest frequently — more harvests over time means more total mutation rolls. Use the time skip from code 100KVISITS to accelerate cycles.
• ⭕ Outer ring priority — a mutation on a high-multiplier outer ring crop is far more valuable than the same mutation on an inner ring crop. Always prioritise outer ring seed quality.
